Sound issue

Ok. I start my car and set music at certain level. Put my car in reverse and start backing out of my garage. As my revers parking sonars sense wall, my music gets muted little , and then loud again. As I continue and now my front sensors sense the wall my music gets muted again, but now stays muted it does not go back loud like it should. So now I have to raise my sound level to be able to here music while driving, and then after driving for while , next time randomly my sonars beep again after sensing something my music goes back loud again , but now is to loud because I had to raise sound level earlier . Anybody experiencing this??? I have SR.

This is new to me but I bet it is a built in safety feature so that your music does not drown out the beep.

Yes!!!! I have this happen to me as well. I posted something about it almost a year ago and no one else said they had experienced it. I even took it to my dealer and they said they could get it to replicate. It still happens to this day. The way I get around it is if I can tell it messed up I'll either get close to something to make the sensors go off again or I'll push the Talk button to bring up the assistant and then hit the button to exit. After the final beep it will occasionally bring the volume back to where it's supposed to be. I have an SR as well.

I see you're in St. Louis. I'm in KC. Must be a Missouri thing.

Sound like a safety feature to me.

The sonar beep is a safety feature for sure but that's not the issue. When the sonar beeps, it reduces the volume of the radio which is fine and that's the way it's designed. But sometimes when the sonar beeping is finished it doesn't return the radio to the same volume level it was at before the beeping started even though the radio thinks it's still up that loud. So then you have to crank the radio all the way up just to be able to hear it at a normal level.

Same here, dealer couldn't replicated the issue.
I noticed it only does that if im backing up fast , like sonars dont have time to beep at all and get confused . I just do the same, put my car in D and drive close to my garage wall and music comes back loud again,

1. Sell the car, or

2. Only set radio volume when car is moving forward. Problem solved.

Decision is yours.
