Windows switch buttons wearing out.( quality issue)

Anyone has any complaints on those windows switches? Maxima has those window switch buttons which decorated with plastic chrome edges. And this fake chrome trim going bad. I’ve checked rear passengers switches and they have this sharpy edges.( I feel like when you will use them a lot they will go bad). Same goes for the driver’s switches( only rear once) However drivers and passengers switches ( on the driver’s side) are fine to the touch.

No problems here - 2+ years and 25k miles.

Could be - but not definitely - skin care products, oil on skin, etc.

Or a bad batch of switches...

Suntan lotion and people whose body oils are slightly acidic have been known to lift painted interior finishes and chrome. The chromed interior plastic of my '07 Altima still looks like new, and believe me that thing got used as a sales car. I'll bet the Maxima finishes are equal in quality.

My driver's side button for the passenger window has done the same thing. I noted something sharp on my finger once then ignored..next time I investigated and it's what you've described--the chrome seems to be peeling off. Doesn't seem to be a fix unless it down...somehow. Lease is up in October so I'm not too stressed,

Yep, just remembered when I washed my car a while back I noticed something sharp. And now it developed into this... oh well nothing I can do. I will try to show it to my dealer when oil change is due.
