2017 SR, 20K, my screen goes to black now and then- press any button and it's back just fine- any thoughts? I did buy a new USB cable just recently for the Apple car play connection and it seems that this has happened only since that purchase- an "Apple certified cable"

 

Sounds like you may have a handle on this. Maybe the system is trying to search for input from the Crapple Cable and goes dark waiting for the signal to appear. Can you disconnect the cable from the system and try it out?

 

Thanks- I suspect the same, that the cable is at fault- the previously used one had no similar issues and I will go back to that one.

 

switching to an Apple- sourced cord solved this issue and the other cord will be relegated to phone charging only- at home
