Call Volume Unstable

Have any of you had a problem with Bluetooth connected phone volume wildly fluctuating on incoming calls? I am experiencing the call volume changing - on its own - from whisper soft to excruciatingly loud within a single call. This is extremely annoying and can make the phone essentially unusable. I know there was a similar problem on the Murano, but cannot find any solution to this problem on the 2018 Maxima.

If you have Apple, try an Android, or visa versa. Also, do you have "auto volume" set to ON. I know it applies to radio volume and the phone comes through the same system so there may be a connection, if internal car "noise" fluctuates up and down significantly as you are using BT. My SL exhibits no such problem.

I’m not sure... where do I find the “auto volume” setting? Haven’t been able to find it. Thanks...

Remember that BT volume is controlled both by your phone and the radio. If you have your phone volume too low you wont be able to hear. conversely if you have it high and the radio high it will come through amplified.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked that. I increased the volume on the phone. It did help somewhat but I still have inconsistent volume during the calls.
