TPMS sensor

I just purchase some Infiniti rims and tried to put them on my 16’ Maxima but the tire guy told me he doesnt want to risk moving my tpms sensor to the new rims. Has anyone moved their original tpms sensors to other rims and had any problems?

It is very simple.. has a few small parts and the sensor on the back side... I would be concerned about the calibration,,, are the wheels you bought 20 inch?
Any Discount Tire will do the swap.. Even worse case.. They sell Tpms.. and are around $40 a piece if they need to be replaced.

It's actually a decent feature. I check my tires and wheels often, washing the car once a week in a good month so I touch the tires every time then, and visually inspect the tires when I walk up to the car regularly. But I tell ya having the warning light has notified me ahead of time on enough occasions that invariably ended up being a puncture from debris or nails. The warning was well before I dropped too low in pressure, that I had time to deal with the situation and get it fixed same day. Beats running flat and not knowing it...

Could not have said it better! I also like being able to review the tire pressure while rolling.

My wife and I check the psi of all four tires every time we are in the car. I keep the psi exactly the same for all four tires. That helps keep the wear even, as well as giving a more predictable performance when maneuvering at higher speeds. And, as mentioned, the TPMS sometimes gives us a chance to catch a leak early and save the tire. I am not a fan of big government, but am thankful they require common sense features such as this.
