So, the back up camera is not working and the can't seem to fix it. The car has been in the shop longer than I have owned it and it is getting frustrating. I will soon star negotiations on getting another car from the dealer. They've called Japan, and had a tech from corporate try to fix it with with no luck.
Am I being unreasonable starting dialogue about a replacement (car has 600 miles)....

There is......Went through the process back in 1989 with a new 240SX that had a vibration they could not fix or find. I was days from a new car and they fixed it by swapping all 4 wheels and tires from a new car on the lot. They had guys from all over the country look at my car...They had it for almost 40 days........Back then....three unsuccessful attempts to fix a problem was reason to open a case for the lemon law

From what I'm reading about the Massachusetts lemon law on new cars, it is 3 attempts or 15 working days (days the service department is open) which gives them 4 more days......Funny (not literally) how the schmooze me during the purchasing process, but won't return my calls now...😒

Then you replace that as well......That is easy enough to swap and see if the problem goes away

I'd just ask for a free month payment...tell the sales manager that's what you're expecting since your first month you are without it. And tell him if you get to 31 days without it, you'll expect a second payment, check in hand on day 31. That should spice things up.

Doubt you can get a replacement if that's the only issue.
That said, I would say your local Nissan service department is highly suspect... if they have had it that long and not solved it yet. I bet it's just been sitting on the lot most of that time, with no one actually working on it. There just giving you the runaround
is ithere another Nissan shop you can bring it to?

I doubt if the dealership financed him

That wouldn't matter. What matters is that the sales guys would find a frustrated customer and may make more effort then the service team is to get this resolved quicker. Again, the idea is to heat things up. Sales and service butt heads all the time in dealerships, ideally they will get the ball moving in service. Hell, even getting in touch with the owner of a dealership can work some magic.

Check out the other thread on my review - camera + infotainment seems like a humongous issue (camera has a wireless connection to the system, I think, and seems "delayed" or "disconnected").
While others believe "this isn't enough for a replacement", a rear camera is now required BY LAW.

My attorney (my dear wife) negotiated a deal so to speak. If the car is not ready by Saturday I will get a brand new one as the lemon law will be in affect. The owner of the dealership personally called and my rump was kissed pretty good. Hate that it took getting an attorney involved in order to get simple communication.

did your dear wife share that with you?
nissan has moles all over this forum.

Kick-*** news. It's not like a pet you fell in love with, it's a car you're paying brand new price for. The least they can do is get you into another new car and allow you to move on from the bad experience. Just make sure they don't gip you in either a lesser model, or missing features/add-ons or a color you hate.

About Nissan moles, maybe that's a good thing. Maybe the chatter that goes on on this site makes a positive impact on issues that folks complain about. One would like to think they are listening

German cars are like 4K HD compared to this crap. If it makes us feel better, Honda is equally bad.
Must be a US or Chinese supplier.
German mfrs use Japanese cameras (Audi had a famous supply shortage after the Tsunami in 2011; BMW had a paint supply issue).
