Anyone ever seen this before? Wasn't aware you could get the color of the leather changed. By the way, not saying I like it at all. But wow.

Saw that as well... looked it up and I think the seats are from a company called katzkin. Doesn't fit at all imo. Like it's missing something. And it clashes with the rest of the black interior which leads me to believe that it was a quick fix before trade in or poor man's custom job.

The red would be fine with white, black or silver. Red interior under a red exterior? No way.

 

That's nasty with that exterior color. Might look ok if the car was white or even black

 

This isn't a Platinum. I would steer the hell clear of this car.

 

Now that link that punkfs posted is showing a Blue SR with a hideous Blue interior.....yuck yuuuuuuck!

 

Looks like the base s model. Doesnt even have the turn signals on the mirrors. I'm thinking whoever did that hideous red leather just did it right over the cloth seats

 

Whew, that is horrible. This is not an SR either, it is a base car so this dealer is already being deceiving and should be avoided at all costs. A navy blue interior would be OK with a white exterior, but this blue wouldn't look good with any exterior color.

 

Seems like a great option if you got the S option and want to upgrade to leather. Just for kicks I tried viewing the colors on katzkins website but all they seem to offer now are shades of brown and grey.

does anyone know if the leather underneath is kept intact if you ever decide to remove the covers?

 

No - leather on top of leather wouldn't work.
On a Platinum - if this was one, which it is NOT - the cooled seats barely can push air through the single layer of leather.
The fan is pretty loud on my 2019 and was louder on my 2016 (almost a grinding noise towards the end).
