I believe the SD card is inextricably married to the head unit.

The nissan owners website sells updated map cards. I don't see why you couldnt purchase one and use it

It's a tricky install - would recommend having your dealer handle it!

Faced with the same problem not long ago, I took the VIN and a $120 bill to the dealer, bought a SD card, plugged it in... and in a very short time... was good-to-go.

Many thanks for all your answers and help
I'll do check the dealers for a specific VIN bound sd card.

... but I must ask... why do these SD cards go missing? Are people stealing them to sell on eBay?

in my case it seems to have been removed by the seller, or whoever preppped the car for the seller. They, of course, “had no idea” but when I started to back out of the deal the sales manager knew the importance (he drives a 2018 Platinum) and paid for the replacement. Driving a car where you Can’t even have radio pre-sets is a real annoying inconvenience.

Same issue here
And we found out after a while of purchasing the car
That's why we are trying to find a work around

When you get it replaced, you’ll enjoy the car s lot more. Not sure where you are but visit a dealer’s part dept ASAP. They had to order the part but the warehouse is not far away so it arrived the next day.
