Best Performance..Sport Mode Traction Control Off?
Best Performance..Sport Mode Traction Control Off?
Ok noob question. I saw a YOUTUBE video of a Maxima launch and the tach just stayed around 5 grand through the whole pull. Mine does the "fake shifting" as they call it when I accelerate hard.. What is the technique and settings used to get that type of pull? And I don't understand why traction control apparently has to be off. What does that matter?
Well, traction control reduces power by applying brake or power to the wheel which is slipping/spinning.
I don't think turning off traction control will make it go faster.
For example if you will lunch from zero with traction control off the wheels will most definitely spin and it will affect the acceleration performance.
Traction control is more of a safety feature.
Im not really sure but I think ABS and TC could be the same system or at least have some sort of embedded system.

If your tires spins on launch, hence the traction control off, the rpm are going to stay steady instead of fake shifts. My car does that.
As for best settings for performance, I ran on the quarter mile with traction control off, and sport mode and i ran a 13.82@102 which is pretty solid. Track was sticky that day.
