2019 Carnelian Red comparison?

Has anyone actually seen a side-by-side comparison of the 2019 Carnelian Red Tintcoat vs. earlier years, or non-Reserve models?
Mine has a bright red shine in the sunlight - kind of like pearl red hence the "tintcoat" - but every other Maxima I've seen with the same paint name looks dull and dark maroon - all the time.

Gotta say your Red is much different than the red on my departed 2016 Platinum. If you pull the 2019 brochure and compare it with the 2016 brochre it is apparent they tuned the shading. The 2019 version seems brighter.

even the dealer (service + sales) seemed to think it was a different color.
The "normal" color is the same.
The brightness (reflection) is totally different. More red than grey/dull/silver.

Up close it looks like there's red flake in the mid coat. So there's red on first, second stage is the pearl, but instead of clear fleck, this stuff is either red or just really pulling the base coat through it (magnifies if you will). Then of course clear is the third.

I can't answer your question, but I will say that is a very nice looking red. Reminds me of the read you see on the Mazda's. I'm not a fan of the Mazda, but when you see one of their red cars go by it's a head turner...

When it's clean/waxed, yes that was what I thought - Mazda Would Red Crystal (which has its own web page! https://insidemazda.mazdausa.com/the...l-red-crystal/)
