Question 2016 SL Maxima --looking for LED or HID

I recently purchased a 2016 maxima SL and noticed that the headlights are standard halogen headlights............it really bothers me to see that warm headlight glow

I want to have brighter whiter headlights and am wondering whether LED or HID are better

Has anyone implemented a brighter headlight lighting solution . if so does anyone have any suggestions or issues/product to avoid?
Are they easy to install?

Any help is greatly appreciated

THX

LEDs in projector lenses are a bad idea IMO. The light scatters and blinds oncoming drivers, plus you won't get much distance in your light output. HID is the best way to go however they're a PITA to hook up and you definitely don't want to cheap out on them, spend the money and get some good ones from Diode Dynamics or another reputable company rather than the cheap ebay junk (I speak from experience). I may eventually go that route but in the meantime I decided to give these a whirl, got them for $25 on amazon and they took me about 5 minutes to swap in. They look great (close match to the DRLs) and have similar light output to the OEM bulbs, however I've heard they don't tend to last more than a year if you're lucky. I figured I'd give it a shot, if they do last a year I'll probably just stick with them and consider it annual maintenance.

HID is the way to go!

Diode Dynamics

Prior to owing my 19 maxima I owned a legacy and purchased all leds through Diode Dynamics. Install was relatively simple, customer service was great and quality was top notch. I had projector lights prior, converted to led and loved them. Didn’t get quite the illumination of hids, but was good enough for me. Never had anyone flash their beams at me! By the way, the cost was also very reasonable.
