Quick Headlights Fix?

Hello everyone,

I just bought a 2005 Maxima with multiple problems but first I need to do state inspection in PA. As one of issues is headlights problem. The previous owner decided to change from original lamps to HID I guess so he just cut wires going to the headlight assembly and connected HID ballasts. I found that the ballasts were not properly grounded and lights burned out - one completely and another was just blinking. I have two goals: first I need to pass inspection ASAP and second I would like to install the most reliable and quality lights (I guess LED). I assume the easiest would be to get used halogen bulbs and connect them to existing wires extending them with butt connectors and extension wires. Them I would light your advice on most popular those days headlight solution - I know that with LED revolution this info changes every day with. I would really appreciate any suggestions including creative ones: since I am considering buying new headlight I am ready to experiment with my current assemblies. Thank you in advance

Just wondering - is it possible to find our what was the factory headlights type on my 2005 Nissan Maxima SL? I think it was halogen but can I know this for sure? I guess in any case it should be easiest to use halogen as a quack fix?

halogen quick fix, they make soem very nice clear white and bright haolgen bulbs as well if you dont care that much for getting into the LED game, save your money and get a nice halogen (more money but less than LED and HID), PIAA's or Sylvania Silver Star ULTRA
