Question 2016 Maxima SL --- Leather repair

I recently purchased a 2016 Maxima SL and during my first wash I noticed that the drivers seat has a tiny rip in it.

I've been calling around to get it repaired or change out the piece of leather. but the leather that I want to change has a stripe in it. and it appears that the upholstery guys that I spoke with just have standard perforated :S

does anyone know where to get the perforated/striped leather??

Any help is greatly appreciated

I do not know where you can get it other than the dealer or junk yard. The outer piece that needs repair is not leather, that is vinyl.

I agree with the vinyl part. Leather does not chip like that. If you are any good with your hands you can remove the entire cover and apply a leather patch to the ripped leather section. I would apply that with a urethane adhesive as it is stronger than stink and is still flexible. As for the vinyl gremlins I think I would look around town the net for a vinyl repair kit, the type you can brush on, hopefully a close match to your color, and be done with it. If you are **** about things like this I would check out a few local auto upholstery shops and get some quotes. Some of these places do amazing work at fair prices. Good luck with this.

I agree with all the advice so far and would indeed see about buying s used seat cover. The drivers seat back on yours really caught hell as my 2016 with 45000 miles still looked great. My theory on yours is that heavy studded fashion bluejeans could have a role here. Our Mercedes dealer sees this all the time and they will only fix the issue once under warranty! Also my Platinum drivers seat was set to move back before exit which kept the entry wear to a minimum.

Keep us posted !

I had a similar tear in mine so i bought a 3M vinyl repair kit off of Amazon for around $15. It comes with everything you need, including paint. I ended up not needing to use the paint though since it was hardly even noticeable after the glue dried.
