Electric Turbo 😂

I just came across a video in YouTube where they reviewed an electric booster. They installed in on a 4 banger Chevy Cobalt and it seems like they got about a 30 HP gain on it with a 5 psi boost from the kit.

First question: has anyone done a turbo built in 8th Gen Maxima?

second question: would the engine and tranny be able to take the added pressure from the turbo?

I was looking into this a few years ago for my 2013 V6 Altima, which seems to have the same engine and tranny as the Maxima (not sure though) but I read somewhere that the CVT wouldn’t be able to take it (not sure if they were talking about the 4 banger CVT or the V6 CVT) so I kind of stopped looking into it.

Here is the link to the video

and the link to the turbo
https://torqamp.com/

Not personally interested in doing this to my Maxima, at this moment. Maybe later down the road.

Cons:

1. ECM needs to be reprogrammed. Sorry Maxima owners.
2. "Up to 3.0 Litre" Anyone know what size engine is in the 3.5 Maxima?
3. "Only charges when alternator is charging 13.7 V or more" How are you going to charge it?
4. 4 minutes of use.
5. Using Methanol to boost octane to prevent spark knock.

I say "Go for it"!

Luis,

The following could work in theory, but I have no idea if this is on the market yet or anyone has tried it with a large car.

You won't be able to do anything with the power train that is already there

I don't think the CVT can handle the TorqAmp. Maybe if you mildly tune it to just give a slight boost and nothing crazy. But then again I don't even think this car can be tuned at all. Theres hope for manual transmission swap in the future since people are doing it on the 7th gen max. But then again you might as well put a real turbo for that.
