Driver door won't open

The temperature dropped over night in my region going from approximately 32 degrees to 8 degrees. I park my Maxima in a garage at home so the issue began when I entered my Max after work where it sat there for 7 hours in 8 -10 degree weather. I was able to open the door but it took a couple of times to close the door from inside the car. When i arrived home, a short drive of 10 minutes the door would not open. The door actuator appears to be working properly as from the inside it moves when it is locked or unlocked. I can not open it from the inside or outside. Searching previous posts on the forum indicates that this is somewhat of a problem in cold weather and seems to clear up when it warms. Is this true? What has been the actual problem? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Parked in the garage overnight and it obviously thawed because it was fully functional. Going to have to carry a alcohol spray with me when it gets cold.

I would recommend bringing this up with your dealership; can be the start of a larger/unknown safety issue

Good luck!

It appears as though the planets aligned for this situation to take place as wet warm weather turned to extremely cold weather overnight. Interesting that I talked to three other people at work with different vehicles who had the exact same experience. When I went to a local parts supplier they were sold out of an alcohol based de-icer, as they indicated they had had a massive rush on the de-icer.
