Steering Feel

When you guys turn the wheel during the car is idle, is it really smooth or hard to turn? Same goes with low speeds, is it pretty stiff at low speeds and eases up as you go up or Smooth regardless.

This gen of Maxima has pretty stiff steering compared to other normal cars. It definitely feels easier to turn the wheel at like 40 or 80 mph compared to turning out of a parking space or doing a 3 point turn or something.

I actually put it in sport mode just to stiffen it up.

if you put it in sport the wheel stiff just a tad, but other then that my 18SV is smooth no harsh turning at idle nor going low speeds its all smooth, mite want to check power steering honestly if its that stiff when you are at idle or going low speeds.

I find it reasonably easy to turn when parked UNLESS I try to turn the wheels very quickly; then she balks at that (ie-stiff); design flaw, 'cause I've hear many others complain about the quick-steering effort needed in parking lots, etc.

A buddy of mine has a '17 RS400 with out DAS, they are out there. The steering feel on in it is on point and in Sport+ mode it feel's good and tight and now that he has replaced those horrible Dunlop run flats with some Michelins it feels goooood!

Bad power steering pump

Turns out the reason my steering feel was extremely stiff was because I have a bad power steering pump and I’m going to dealership tomorrow to get it checked out. And the guy that had something to say about going drive an Infiniti’ my guy q50 has adaptive steering and you can change the feel. Steering is one thing everyone prefers to have a smooth one even if you drive a sports car stiff steering are a No no.
