AC not working correctly
Hi, I'm new here and I don't know much about cars, a lot of mechanics try to play me and do the most. My car is having issues with the AC, It's always hot where I live so my AC is always at 60, not until recently I realized when I turn it up to 61 or anything above the air blows hot. What could be causing this? I have a 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum

Set your temp to a realistic 72-73 degrees on both sides and run with it through several start-stop cycles or trips. Does the /AC cool @ 60 setting? Does is cool at 72? (Outside temp must be warmer)
If so the thermostat board may be defective or you just need a coolant charge. Either way, This would show up in a dealer diagnostic test. How many miles on this car? /AC ever been serviced?

So I have not tried setting it at 70 at all. When I first realized it I was just playing with the button and that's when I realized it gets hot at 61 or higher. The car is salvaged and has 53k miles I've only had it for a couple months and the old owners did not keep up with it being serviced for anything.
Sweater
I live in a hot place also, but if I ran my AC at 60 I’d be wearing a sweater and mittens!
i haven’t had that problem with my Maxima but did with a Mercedes. It liked having the system “recycled” periodically. There was a button reset sequence that put all if the various dampers back in synchronization.

Salvage could mean flooding and consequential problems like this. Time to pull one side of the front passenger carpeting back and the rear seat bottom out so you can see if there is any mud or telltale rusting on the metal. Worth a try to have a dealer pull any service records on the system and since you bought this car cheaper, spring for a diagnostics report from a trusted dealer.
