Highway Passing
Highway Passing
I have to say... there's nothing like the feel of the Maxima when passing a car on the highway. I was driving home last night in the middle lane and a big truck in front of me was driving a little erratic... I didn't want anything to do with him. I switched to the left lane and gave it some gas. Zoomed right by him! The car is so responsive and smooth, even when you're already at highway speeds. Thought my wife was going to ring my neck but she relaxed once I let my foot off the gas.
I had a rental Rogue SL recently and man that thing is underpowered. Had to floor it to get any sort of noticeable acceleration and driving feel was so numb on that thing. Perfect for people that want appliance vehicles though
When I'm on the highway I work hard to stay in the right lane at around 70 to 75. It's way to easy to gas it in the left lane when passing or playing with somebody and suddenly you're at 100+. That's handcuffs and a reckless driving charge in NH. Not worth it. I've been lucky the few times I haven't take my own advice.

Yeah.. it's hard to make the adjustment. The Maxima is my wife's car. I normally drive a 6 cylinder SUV. I was in the market for a fun car with a manual transmission. I test drove a few 4 cylinders, but ended up with a Dodge Challenger R/T with the 5.7 Hemi. Soo much fun!!!
zup28w - Were you in 'Sport' mode? If not, next time in a similar situation make sure 'sport' is engaged. There is a noticable difference in acceration. When I had cause to do a little overtaking recently, I though my wife was going to have a heart attack!!
lol@heart attack.
