Navigation update

The official way is you have to purchase the Nissan Navigation update for like 150 bucks and then they can update it for you at your dealer or something.
I don't know if there's an unofficial way to update the maps without some hacking involved but its just map data and they shouldn't be charging that much for it haha.

There has been much written on the pros and cons of upgrading your maps.
1st issue is the danger of the upgrade "bricking" your current system. (It happens too much)
2nd issue is that the "Updates" seem to be 2 years behind what is current right now.
The upgrade is overpriced!
If you are needing a better map for a unique situation, this is where Google maps wins easily.
For 95% of my driving needs, the Nissan GPS gets the job done without tying up my cell phone.
My vote is "leave well enough alone"
PS. The 2019s and 2020s did away with the SD card and update "over the air". I defer to Lindros expert posts on this.
