Cruise control not working

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum and Nissan. I recently purchased a 2020 Maxima Platinum (rebuilt title). On the way home, I turned the cruise control on, clicked set, but nothing happened. The cruise control symbol lights up and that is it. No information shows up about radar blockage or anything like that. I'm not exactly sure what all components make up the ICC. So I am wondering if I am missing a part, issue with fuse / relay or just pushing the wrong buttons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

JD

Your 2020 has two Cruise Control Modes, ICC and a regular mode. (2016 and 17s, and 18s did not have this ) Your owner's manual goes into some detail but I would try to engage the regular mode by holding in on the engagement button for a few seconds to see if that mode works. If it does, then I would guess the radar sensor is not plugged in behind the front bumper or even not there.

Thank you for the information, however, that did not work either. I held the on / off button for three seconds and it gave some information and then just showed the orange cruise symbol. I was going atleast 45-50 mph and clicked "set" and nothing. The front bumper was replaced, however, I did not think that would interfere with normal cruise control.

But it does not have regular (non-intelliget) cruise control.

Thanks for clarifying that -2young2retire-as I had it backwards in my 1st comment. I bought a new 2016 Platinum and hated the fact a non-ICC mode did not exist.
That was corrected from the 2019s up. Why was that a big deal? My 2016 Platinum's ICC would go offline if heavy rain or snow was present on the front bumper and the regular cruise could not be engaged.

If the ICC system is working correctly the cruise symbol displayed should be green. Orange (or as the '19 manual states -Yellow) indicates a malfunction. I suspect if the ICC system is in fault mode, than conventional mode will also be unavailable. Good possibility that the sensor behind the Nissan logo is either not plugged in or is missing. Once you have resolved either of those issues being a rebuilt, it probably will require calibration/alignment,

I'm not sure the Radar sensor resides behind the large logo on the grill (I know the front camera does) Rather I have been told the radar unit is behind the right front (passenger side) bumper cover. If the car was in an accident, they might not have a good connection here or the radar module is defective.

As per my manual for a '19, page 5-60, the sensor/radar unit is located behind the Nissan emblem. Parking aid sensors are behind the bumpers, back and front
