Grinding noise when turning steering wheel

I am hearing a grinding noise when I spin my steering wheel left or right when I back into my garage or turning corners. If you are not paying attention you wouldn't notice it. Not sure could this be the beginning of my steering pump going bad I just clipped 100k miles. Any help much appreciated.

I just had that same issue. 73K miles.
It was rusted out front brake backing plates (known as baffle plates by Nissan.)
~$600 to replace both, not covered under my extended warranty (considered normal corrosion, unlike my more serious problem in the post above.)

I had a similar experience. Mine got resolved getting front pads and rotors plus thorough cleaning of calipers and backing plate/shield. I did rear pads and rotors while I was at it.

Have your wheel bearings checked.
