New Monroe struts and shocks

I just got the struts and shocks (Monroe) replaced.
I find the ride a bit stiff now.
Is this normal and will the ride quality soften after some mileage?

I have a 2010 Maxima, and I just replaced all the front-end suspension parts this week. The shop said to drive for a few days and bring it back after the components have settled, in order for them to recheck the front-end alignment. I did notice that my steering felt stiffer and after 3 days my car drifts to the right, so I'm taking it back on Saturday to have the alignment re-adjusted.

1st off you would notice the stiffness as your old oem struts decline gradually. The ride should improve as the car "sets up" with the new shocks. What was the mileage at replacement?

If you replace all your old struts and shocks and you do not notice any difference in the ride, then there is something wrong.

Struts are a "wear" item and they do degrade over the life of the car. Otherwise we would not be replacing them periodically. How could you conclude the struts/shocks would remain the same as when they were new?

I may have misunderstood the comment earlier. I do wonder when to replace the struts inasmuch as I am keeping my 2019 longer. My mileage is about 41000
