Question Nissan Maxima 2017 - software options are missing from the multimedia system

Hi,

I've recently purchased a Nissan Maxima SL 2017. For some weird reason the multimedia system is lacking CarPlay and Navigation functionality from the menu.
I'm living outside of the US and the local dealership say they do not assist with software-related issues and that I need to deal with it.

I don't care much about the built in navigation since I can use apps from my phone instead but would very much prefer to use CarPlay.

I'm totally clueless what could be the reason since I know for fact that Nissan Maxima 2017 unit has this functionality.
My SD card seems to be a standard one (25920 9DD6A GOM-E). System version in the unit shows Program Version 044.

Please advise what could be done. I'm at the point of thinking of swapping the original unit for a 3rd party with CarPlay but would rather not if there's anything to be done (manual software upgrades etc.)

Based on my own experience, the problem was not reading sd card correctly because lock-in mechanism would't work in slot. I had to put the tape.
