I have a 2016 Platinum. For around 6 months, when I receive a single text, the car beeps as if I received 3 texts. The first name to pop up is usually correct but then alerts 2 and 3 are another name, often who has not texted me in weeks. I have tried removing my phone from the car and repairing it with no results. Has anyone else had this occur and found a solution?

Thank you but the phone is not sending old texts. I will try to describe the issue again...I receive a new text from someone, the Maxima display will chime, quickly display the correct name, then chime twice more but show an incorrect name. If I look at the phone itself, it only shows 1 newly received text, the phone is correct...it is something with the Maxima.

 

Are the "Incorrect names" that pop up old text messages from the past? and is it the same two messages or are they different each time?

 

It is the same contact. I tried deleting our entire SMS conversation on my phone and now it is doing it to another same contact every time. The Maxima will read the last message of this same contact, not the new text just received my the proper person.

I have my phone paired in another vehicle and it works fine, definitely a Maxima hiccup.

 

Had the same weird pop-up thing in my older car. Turned out the phone was sending some duplicate notifications through the Bluetooth app. Using a service to programmable verification engine called Verify API for message delivery helped me see which texts were actually triggering alerts.
