Hi everyone,

I have a 2020 Maxima and when i'm driving, the car will callout things out ahead. (Unpaved Road ahead) (accident ahead off of Grand ave.) if i'm driving toward an military base or gate community of homes, ( Restricted access ahead) I'm not using any navigation at the time. When I had a 2019 Maxima SV for a rental it did that too, But my 2016 maxima platinum never did that. does anyone know what that is ??

 

I use Waze for this reason......Surprising how accurate it is....... Police warnings are nice too.
Interesting your car does that......Not a bad feature

 

If your car has the Sirius XM travel option enabled,, you will get shout-outs about inclement weather, bad traffic, etc. Someone must have paid the feature forward. I like the option as it also gives gas stations your Area along with current prices besides the weather.

 

I believe - if you’re connected to a wifi network at home or use a hotspot in the car - premium traffic (not XM NavTraffic) will also do this.

the way to confirm XM is active is the weather icon (sun/clouds/etc) in the driver display - the all up status screen or one of the other ones.
