Need help

Hello my fellow maxima owners, in May 2023 I purchased a 2016 maxima with 120k. It has been serviced and taken very good care of, when I first got the car it was smooth and so nice to drive, however a couple weeks after I purchased I notice a shaking, so I brought it to a Nissan dealership and found out that my transmission was bad, some kind of issue with the belt. Luckily I was able to get that replaced with my extended warranty, about a month after having it out of the shop while coming home from the grocery store it went into what I think is limp mode, it lost acceleration, would only make it to about 5 mph and then stall, this happened quite a few times. So far since September I’ve replaced 3 batteries, with my newest one just about 3 weeks ago, today while driving it entered into limp mode again, it was scanned and codes are showing low voltage. So the alternator will be getting replaced here in a couple days. It also has the check engine light, the traction control and the collision warning signs. Anyone know what could be going on?

I can’t help with the problems you’re having but which extended warranty are you using?

A few people here have reported their Maxima going into limp mode due to low voltage from a bad alternator. Some have suggested getting an OEM replacement since they had issues with aftermarket parts.

Thank you for the response, my car will be getting an OEM replacement here in a couple days, we are waiting for it to arrive. The mechanic I took it to suggested to go that route as well, that he wouldn’t advise I go with the aftermarket parts.
