I had a problem come up this weekend with my 2021 Maxima. I have 32,000 miles on the car. When putting the car in gear, including drive and reverse, the throttle pedal acts like it has become unplugged. Completely unresponsive. Put it back in park or neutral, and immediate response. I tried restarting the car and it became fine and drove perfectly, and then the next day, the same thing. It acts like it completely loses signal from the pedal. It's not like it responds a little bit or is misfiring or something, it literally becomes like it is unplugged. The tech at the dealership where I work (Honda) scanned it and there are no codes or lights on. Pulling back on the brake pedal or stomping the brake or gas yields no results. A couple of times it intermittently caught and then just went dead again. The engine just idles like it's not being told to accelerate. Has anyone experienced this?
Ends up it was a bad battery. I read some posts with similar issues, and found that once I shut off the climate control and heated seats, etc, the throttle would become responsive again. I had my tech do a full test on the battery and found it to be faulty. Replaced with a new AGM battery, and all is well and working perfectly.

Once the car is started, the alternator primarily runs the car. I find it interesting that the battery was the solution.
Now that you've replaced the battery, did you check the health of your alternator for peace of mind?
