I have a 2018 Maxima that I really like. I noticed 2 tiny rust spots on the trunk lid. right under the logo. I Googled around a bit, and saw that others have had this issue too. I brought it to Nissan today, and it looks like there's a little more rust. They offered to have a local body shop (one they use) to repaint the trunk lid and Nissan will cover it.
My question is, would I be better off touching it up myself and leave the factory paint alone, or let them go ahead and spray it?
