I want to buy sound deadening material but I'm not sure how many square feet I need. I want to cover trunk and sides, wall separating trunk and inside, and a trunk lid.

I also came across one time a thread where a guy would spray some foam in the lid, which would harden and also act as a sound deadener.

Everyone I know have used different square footage, depending on material and layers
I'd just get a gallon of liquid deadening (Second Skin Spectrum) for the trunk
The lid, you can buy maybe 24sqft of a mat........

 

yeah 20 sqft should be plenty just for the lid. id get 40 sqft total and it will be perfect for the job.

 

Thanks guys. Somehow I had a gut feeling I am not the first one trying to cover my trunk with sound deadener.....

So I figured, why I do not simply ask...
