but, everytime i go over a bump, my driver side (the one w/o right now) makes a clicking noise. could be b/c of the less support, i dunno. i'm just gonna start zip tying them from now on so they won't come loose.
I dont have any noises from them...just make sure everything is extra tight.

Well mine have never been replaced so I think that might be your issue.

The top nut isnt easy. Have you checked the camber hex screws?

No, I dont think so. Not really. The pillow ball joints dont really 'go bad', they are simply metal sleeves inside one another. I cant imagine the abuse you would have to put them through to damage them.

Could it be something in your bay by the battery?

the pillow ball mount wont really go bad....It can seize and such from debris but it wont make a rattle....the springs make a clunk, the other mounts make a clunk or clicking sound, bottom mounts will make a clicking noise...

Its something else in or around your engine bay.

Alright guys thanks for the good info. Kyle your always helpful...

Im going to try to look around the engine bay see if anything rattles in there. But it really sounds like its coming from the left side wheel well.

I had a noise that I thought was from the COs, but it turned out my battery was loose. Every bump I hit just made a slight noise, but got annoying.

Glad I can help.

That might be it. Cause my car just had a little fender bender on that side and they maybe forgot to tighten that up . Just double check everything

THANKS !!!!

Blown coilovers are not what make the noise. The noise is coming from partially loosened collars.

Edit. I NEED A SPARE COLLAR! I am going to try something to reduce the chances of them coming loose. Anyone??

I need either the one that tightens against the spring perch, or the lower mount. I guess I could try my idea on the spring perch itself. Either of those.

oh ok. I was just curious because i finally got them noise free and then i found oil on the passenger side rear coilover.

the bolt that sits in the middle of the camber plate on the driver side is stripped so i can't torque it down. I took the coilover off the car and took it to a shop and they said that they could cut it off. I don't want to damage the thread. has this happend to anyone else and is there an easier alternative?

ok.
yeh i have 2 extra brand new collars (against the spring perch) just sitting. just tuned the front and raised it a bit today and i'm going to do the rears tomm. like i said, i'll see if i can get it loosened w/o damaging it and if so, i'll give a collar for free.

just another precaution to everyone, the lowest black collar came loose a long time ago and looked like it worn some of the threads off. sent the collars to ksport to have them check it out. 1 was useless, the other was still usuable. so they returned it to me and i was luckily still be able to screw it back in even with the INSIDE of the strut worn a bit

i know there not a big deal but i been hearing almost a popping noise every time i go over a bump on my driver side (w/ no black collar). so hopefully with this installed again, it'll go away.

just either get a long zip tie and tie around and over the strut or apply the BLUE locktite on the thread.

UPDATE!

I created a way to eliminate the problem regarding the collars loosening themselves, your
steering wheel being off center, and the popping noises when going around corners!

First off, I know this is a rear lower spring perch, but the same idea applies for any locking collar.
Second, I put about 3 hours of work into this one alone.
Third, Ignore the locking collar just above this one, I just moved the existing collar up to fit this one in, I didnt use it at all, its just sitting there.
Fourth and lastly, ignore the dirt, my axle seal is cracked, grease...yeah. Haha.

Quite simply:

Pre-install

Installing

Installed
