Lower Control Arm Bushings.

Do you have to replace the whole control arm. or is it just the bushings. Ive been told you cant buy the bushings seperately. But yet ive seen or heard of ppl doing this. Once i get my Contol Arm problem fixed and axles(sp?) i cant begind modding my car. Suspension wise. like fstb, rstb, fsb, rsb. Everything Blehmco. offers for my car suspension wise im getting. and i want to get springs and struts and 17's.

Thanks for any feedback on my ? about the front lower control arms.

www.suspension.com has the bushings. There is a 3rd gen site with the Howto.

The procedure is actually not that complicated. The reason why everyone says that it's a hard job is because it's a pain in the *** to pull the old bushings off the LCA and push the new bushings back on the LCA.

I was figuring that's what it might have been, I just haven't jumped into it yet to find out for myself. Thanks.

That's what I intend on doing. Should be too expensive I hope.

Its not, a local machine shop had the old bushings pushed out and ES bushings pressed in for $15 each. Took less than an hr.

That's a steal. If I were to do my axles alone, places around here would probably charge me that much.

Yupp, I tried like 5 times to change um and I failed each time. I never could get the axle nut off . I even broke the breaker bar and a few sockets haha.

Operator error. Just teasin.. I'm guessing you might not have had the tools you needed.

I recently changed both LCA's, ball joints, and redid the bushings with ES ones a couple months ago by myself in the garage without a helper, air tools or a press and didn't break a thing.

Haha, I blame the shop that made the nut too tight on the axle

you will never see a how-to from me. i'm too damn lazy. i'll prolly get a local shop to do it. they shouldn't charge more than $50 to $80.

Yeah, I broke a 1/2" drive breaker bar on the 36mm axle nut. Then I tried using a friends 1" drive breaker and socket and it came right off.

about how long will the stock last. or do they not need to b changed unless they break. because if i can just get the bushings then whats the point of buyin a whole new control arm unit.
