question on Koni Yellow installation
im in need of 2 front struts and ive been looking at the Koni Yellows. my Illuminas have served me well but im in need of new ones and an upgrade. for those that have installed it, how hard was it to cut the stock housing and slip in the inserts? i have a dremel and a couple cutting discs. a writeup would be greatly appreciated as i dont know what i need to cut.
thanks.
thanks.
Dont bother using the dremmel, you will eat up discs like no tomorrow. I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder and it was very simple. Before you install them think about shortening them for some added travel. Its really the best thing to do.

Also how low are you dropped? If you are really low consider the 89-94 Maxima red inserts. They are shorter and can handle 500in/lb springs. The only down side is they are not externally adjustable.

yeah i was contemplating about shortening the struts cuz im dropped pretty low. im about halfway down on the fronts and all the way up in the rear on my GCs. it does seem like im riding on my bumpstops a lot (reason why they blew). ill probably go with the Red Inserts since theyre short already. adjustability i dont really mind. btw do i really need a bench vise? cuz i dont have one... or would a helping hand be sufficient?
thanks.
thanks.
