I asked this question in the 5th gen suspension thread but nobody has confirmed this and not many chime-in there. I figured there are more Illumina owners (4th and 5th gens) as well.
Here's a very simple question for you Illumina owners:
Can you keep dialing the settings to the right (or left, doesn't matter) from 1-5 and then back to 1 (without going counter)???
I did that to mine but I wasn't sure if it was normal. Basically, I can keep twisting the ****/flathead dial to the right and it will continue to go even from 5 to 1 (when twisting clockwise). So there are no "locks" between the jump from 5 to 1?
Thanks in advance!

In that case I shouldn't be worried. I'll double check that but basically it's saying to only dial clockwise. For example, going from 4 to 3 you'd have to dial through 5-1-2-3.Originally Posted by irish44j
IIRC, the instructions to the strut state that all adjustments should go clockwise 1-5-1 and so on...

I wondered the same thing when I installed mine. Would continuous clockwise rotation put the strut at a hypothetical level 6? but if it goes
1-2-3-4-5-1...then i guess not?

OK, thanks. I read the instructions again and it shows half a circle tracing the outside of the strut rod (at the top where you dial) with arrows on both ends. So no signs of "only clockwise dialing." I wonder if jumping from 5-1 or vise versa hurts the struts, then?
