6th gen calipers

Do both left and right front calipers look the same? I ordered 2 front calipers for the 6th gen brake upgrade. autopartswarehouse.com sent me 2 calipers...but they look different. One has a straight edge and the other is curved. Here are the pics... Thanks in advance.

Yes they do appear exactly the same with one important difference:

The bleeder screw is in a different place for each caliper. This screw will be on the top of the caliper when in the proper location.

Well besides the bleeder screws, the fronts of the caliper are different. One has a straight edge and the other is curved.

I'd love to help but don't have an anser, although i do have a favor. Would you kindly measure the depth of your calipers? (e.g from the face where it shows "Nissan" to the back). As well as the height as it stands in your first picture? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

p.s. good job on the lettering, how did you do that?

They're the same calipers (save for one is the right and one is the left) but it looks like someone ground the front face flat on the left one. They'll do the same job fine, but that would bother me that they're different. It is a cool idea though and IMO it looks better...

Actually looking at the pic a little closer it appears that the caliper in the RH side of the picture is from an Altima SE-R. Same rotor and pad size, just a more square shape on the casting. Didn't really catch that in the photo until you pointed it out.

Ok, I found out that one is from an SE-R and the other is OEM. It might bother me a little bit, but now that I painted them and used the stickers I cant return it.

I always thought the Altima SE-R and 6th gen calipers were the same save for cosmetics...they look slimmer too, so folks wanting to do the 6th gen brake upgrade who couldn't fit the calipers behind their stock wheels (00-01 SE 17s come to mind) might be able to fit the SE-R flavor of caliper instead.

That is a really good point you made. The wheels you mentioned (among others) would possibly fit with the SE-R calipers. If someone is sourcing the parts from scratch it would make sense to go with the slimmer ones.

good point man. i heard that the 02-02 SE 17s fit and the 00-01 SE's dont. since i already painted and used the sticker on the 6th gen rotor, i cant really send it back for an SE-R one.
