Jeff's brakes peoples ?
Jeff's brakes peoples ?
I am going to upgrade (again) to some bigger brakes. I wanna know how much room do I need from the ROTOR to the spokes of the wheel to clear the calipers. We are talking Jeffs brackets, with 300ZX 30mm calipers and Cobra rotors.
I wanna make sure they fit behind my old school Volks, if not it gives me a reason to get some new wheels- which I rather not.
Measurement from the top of the rotor out is needed.... thanks !

If that 2.5" is from Matt's site, add another 10mm to it. The cobra rotors have 10mm offset to accomodate my brackets moving the caliper out 10mm.
You need quite a bit of space. But I've always found oem wheels to clear. ie.. 98 cobra 17x8s, G35 coupe 18s, Z touring 18s, Z track edition 18s and I'm pretty sure the forged coupe 19s would clear. For ref they all had about 30mm clearance. But spoke design is just as important.
Blackbird, you already got the rings/brackets?

I forget my offset... I need to measure my space to be 100% sure.
Jeff once i am positive my wheels can fit over the TTZ calipers- I will be sending you a PayPal payment for the rings/brackets

Baer and Wilwood both make 2 piece rotors for Cobras.... I priced both out and they are similar priced. I'm not going to do this BBK unless I can get those rotors for my car. I like saving weight, not adding it on- why I took off those heavy 04 Max rotors with TTZ calipers.

Matt,
I tried E-mailing you bout those 2 piece rotors.... I will need the caliper brackets and JUST front SS brake lines. I have a set of brand new calipers lined up for dirt cheap- just need to make the call to have em delivered
Lemme know what kinda price we are talking bout here, AND the weight of the rotors.

^^^ I need to get calipers 1st. Test fit everything and then I can buy the rotors.
I'm going on vacation in 3 days.... and I got a track event 2 weeks afterwards and I have a ton of work to do on my car, and other peoples cars.
I hate spring/summer season- no time for anything.
