suspension issue with D2 coilovers help!
i took them to my shop to have them put on and fronts went fine but they couldnt manage to do the rear.... you use the factory top mounts but it took them forever to realize this and then once we got them assembled they arent working correctly.
From the bottom up there is the coilover body then bottom spring isolator then the spring and then the top isolator/mounting plate (purple piece as seen)
then the issue uis that the factory bumpstops dont seen to fit over the center metal strut piece so i dont even think they put the bumpstops on so after the top mounting plate piece i think they just put the top boot and then the factory top mount and screwed it down. So whenever i go over a bump the back just bounces uncontrollably and if you look at the top of the strut tower you see the center piece literally going up and down when you push down on the car. Did they not put the bumpstop in? would this cause this problem or how else could i fix this problem. Just trying to get the rears working correctly...

They do use the factory top mounts. I'm on a gov't computer and can't see your pic.
It should be the cylinder, locking ring, another locking ring, spring ring, spring top purple plate. This isolates the spring. There should be a washer looking piece that goes on top of the strut then the bumpstop then another washer looking piece then the nut. Hope this makes sense, it sure did when I was typing it. lol
I'll take a look at the pic when I get home tonight.
Also you would have to make sure you preloaded the strut before putting it on. I measured from the top isolating plate to the locking screw on the bottom of the spring at 8 inches.
