Its nice to start with 255hp but is he gonna do anything from there cause while it was out would have been the time to do other things. I did flywheel, headers and cams while it was out(the cams were a unplanned thing cause they are so expensive, now i need another set for my car)

Uh no the pins for the cams are in different locations and WILL cause major valve to piton interference. I have already looked into it, I probably could use them if I lined them up by eye but thats too risky.

This information has been posted several months ago. Once by me and again by BlackBirdVQ.

I think my 3" exhaust hurt my 1st and 2nd a little but 3rd pulls like hell. I hung with a high 12 second DSM from 20-80 and he wasnt pulling at all just got a little off the start, he thought I was S/Ced lol

just wait guys. i finally got my tires and will be going to the track as soon as i have some time cause school and work is killing all of my time at home and my time with my car.
and tilleys99, why didnt you get a Vi from a 2k-2k1 max? and with that high of a comperssion, going FI is just nuts. it will work but for how long though is the question.

Why does everyone think its gonna kill my car having a 11.5to1. Considering they make piston that are 11.5to1. It runs awesome with minimal issues. Im just trying different plugs cause it has a slight miss a low rpm.

and third, will the block take the 101.6 bore?
There is also the VQ40DE that will debut in the '05 Frontier, Xterra and Pathfinder. However that block will be much taller to support it's 92mm stroke and probably won't fit in a A32 or A33 chassis without a custom cowl hood.

The reason tilley went with the 3.0 heads was because of the higher compression? The variable timing doesn't look that complicated. There's a solenoid on the top of each valve cover. Can't you just use a rpm switch or something similar to activate it? Do a few runs on the dyno and see which rpm is best to activate it. Does it sound like it will work or I am thinking things too simple?

Um...C ontinuous V ariable
These engines output are continuously varied via timing of ignition and valves.

Ok I am new at reading this and want to learn more about it. Your taking the short block 3.5 using 3.0 heads. Using short block your using crack rods and pistons. You get the higher compression due to the greater combustion area correct. So if I want to do this to my 00 I could. Then I could get aftermarket pistons for 3.5. Also JWT hasn't got back to me about cams but I could use those in the DE-K correct even though it says use with JWT ECU. Also Tilleys99 with it being a short block does that make the engine sit lower in your car.

Yes, on the 3.0 head with 3.5 block...that's what Tilley did.
No, your compression is raised because 3.0 head CC is smaller.
Yes, you could do it to any VQ30.
You only need aftermarket pistons if you intend to raise or lower the CR.
Yes, JWTs VQ30 cams will work in the DEK heads.
No, VQ35 and VQ30 are externally same.
