Speculation at gains on a VQ30 just from stock VQ35 cams?

Assuming MEVI/DEK manifolds and I/Y/E.

Would gains be worth install over stock VQ30 cams?

For $800-$1000 LESS then aftermarket cams, would you still go with aftermarket cams?

In short, if you could pick up stock VQ35 cams for <$200, would it be worth the install?

I would get some for that price. Question is, would they be worth it.

I can run the specs thru Dyno2000 and see what it says. The software shows some high end gains to be had if you use 3.0 DEK exhaust cams as 3.0 intake cams.

IIRC the duration is more aggresive on the 2k2 cams, but if there designed to work with V V T it may not be a good choice. I went to a 350Z website and found the specs for there cams without V V T. The 350Z stock cams show a huge loss in low-mid end power if you run them without V V T. Then again this is just software speculation.

Run the VQ40 cams through and see what it says.

Int: 10.0mm
Ex: 9.7mm

well of course it will loose low to midrange power without vvt but it still is better over 3.0cams and dek cams, I'm also curious to know the hp tq differences over JWT cams or any other brand well we know that there more aggressive and will outperform but by how much. Money vs. hp+tq is what we need to know maybe it's not that much of a difference and for us 4thgen's it would be an affordable mod. I can say that I really feel the difference at top end with my 3.5 cams it screams up top, that’s were I think it’s noticeable.

In comparison to 350Z cams these have some improvement in power across the RPM range cause of the higher lift and have a bit more low-mid end do to the less aggressive intake cam. IMO from the software analysis these would be a slight improvement over stock 350Z cams.

If you can get the timing specs its easy to punch in... Ive been wanting for someone to run JWT VQ30DE cams thru a cam doctor and get the actual specs for comparison, see if there worth it.
