Is there a writeup for '00 vi on 4th gen?
So has anyone done a writeup on installing a '00 VI on a 4th gen? I hope that someone has because I can work on engines, I just dont know how to do something like that.

It's basicly taking off upper and lower IM's and swapping. Wire the new injector connectors--not hard only 2 wires per connector. Figure out which vaccum lines you need to plug up and use.

It's hard to do a single write-up with all the different directions you can go with TB, EGR, etc.
That's more info than I had when swapping mine.

Wait so kevlo & Bswith, the egr would just be put back on nicley or does that require 3-4 ****** in your @ss, If I do it I still want the EGR, in fact i was planning on spray painting it silver so no one can tell.

You can keep your EGR if you want. I used the 5th gen IACV which is mounted on the bottom of the 5th gen TB so it got in the way of the EGR, so I removed mine. If you use the 4th gen TB(have to make an adapter) or the 5th gen TB(no adapter) and make an adapter plate for the 4th gen IACV, EGR is no problem. Just have to swap the pipe that goes from the manifold to the EGR valve.

So do you think I would be able to do it?, or would I blow up my car and half the block with it?
lol, so if I use the 5th gen EGR, all I have to do is swap that pipe. sound like that part would be easy. The 00vi just bolts on like the normal vi, right, other than fuel rail??? I need a harlan switch to? or is that not requried?

You still use the 4th gen EGR system, you just swap that one pipe. On a stock 4th gen it's the pipe that goes from the EGR valve to the back of the intake manifold. The 5th gen EGR valve is electronic while the 4th gen one is controlled by vacuum. It's is very easy to do.
I can't imagine any way of blowing the car up during this swap. It can seem a little overwhelming at first but as you get further into the swap things will fall into place and it'll all make sense in the end. (Hopefully)

Can someone than get a parts list made up so this can be easier to attain and install?! That would rock! A lot of members are interested in this project but need some extra help in terms of what to get and where to start...and, do we need a Harlan switch to do this?! Thanks in advance!
