ecu question

anyone know how i can check an ecu to find out what model year and trans. car it came out offi checked jwt website and it didnt list this number A18F12EQ2 THANX

According to what David Burnette told me, the number on the ecu is the manufacturer's (not Nissan's) part number. There may be a master list somewhere that lists all the ecu numbers and what year and trim of vehicle they correspond to, but David says that info is not something available to Nissan parts dealers.

The reason it doesn't have it is beyond the year 96 Maxima.
