Advice on headers install

I will be installing the hothshot headers on my SC'd 2000 next weekend . Now I know some of you guys are running headers so i was wondering if y'all had some helpful tips for installation. I posted this in here because of the fact it seems alot of you guys do alot of your own work.

I installed Cattman headers on my engine. I removed the engine cradle, the rear engine mount bracket and the steering box heat shield to free up room to get at it from below. As it was, it was still difficult getting at the upper header nuts and the heat shield bolts.

I30tMike took a different approach and removed his intake manifold and did everything from above. He seems to have had an easier time doing it that way.

The only real difficulty I had was breaking loose the egr tube from the stock header and the egr valve. I ended up using an adjustable wrench and a piece of pipe for a cheater bar.

This is a job best done when you have plenty of time. Take it slow and easy and take the attitude that you are doing this for recreation.

The HS headers don't have the EGR fitting for the 2k0 Fed spec cars. If you have EGR you're sorta screwed unless the CEL means nothing to you.

Yeah i know about the EGR fitting. I am either going to have the fitting welded on the hotshots or i am going to eliminate it. My CEL has been on for 2 years now for O2 sensor so it doesn't even phase me any more. As long as my EGT's are fine then everything else is just trivial BS
