Umm, it's the same thing ... Minus the shifter mecahnics, gated vs straight line. Internals are the same as well as gear ratios.

Its not a sportronic, it's just gated. The 6g has the 5A with the +/- "sport" option.

We don't have that. Our tranny is the same as yours, minus the gated shifter. What you're thinking of is the 6th Gen 5 speed shift-o-manual (whatever the hell it's called)...

Don't do a complete swap just b/c of the shifter. That would be foolish, getting the 6g 5A would be better, as you would have better gearing, and the sport ish you want.

Yes, the 6th gen 5speed auto would be worth the swap. It would make hte car much faster because of hte shorter gears...

Nissan should've done that (5A) in the autos a long time ago. It would do wonders for the 3.0 off the line, and work really well with the DEK power curve.

You still stuck on the 5-5.5? Have you ever driven an auto 5.5? The harnesses should be all the same. Just change the shifter assembly out.

In my opinion, I don't think it would be worth it. I'm contemplating swapping to 6MT once the powertrain warranty goes.

for the 6 spd swap do you need the 3.5 flywheel or you can just use the 3.0 flywheel,, i heard the 3.5 has a smaller flywheel and pressure plate would be smaller again i'm not sure

just convert it to a manual; not much point for switching to the 5 speed auto for the reasons stated..

Now a 6 speed swap would be interesting, but I believe that it's not a simple bolt on swap.
