what needs to be fabricated for 00vi?

Hey, i'm seriously considering doing the 00vi mod to my 98 Max...all i need to know is...what parts do I need to custom fabricate to make everything fit?

I'm planning on using my TB (can the 5th gen TB work in its place?)

I'm also planning on using the upper and lower part of the 00 IM.

Thanks.

If you want to use your 4th gen TB, you will need to make an adapter. You will also need an adapter for the IACV. If you choose to use the 5th gen TB, no adapter necessary as it bolts right to the DE-K manifold. If you choose to use the EGR system, you will need to buy the DE-K EGR guide tube as well.

so would it be possible to not do any fabrication at all and still get it to work?

If that is the case, i'll just buy the 2000 IM(upper/lower), and TB. what else would I need to make it work? I don't have much experience, but would love to learn. can i use my 4th gen fuel rail and injectors, or would I have to change them?
What kind of rpm switch would I need?

This adapter for the IACV - is it absolutely necessary? how much would it cost (approx.) to have a shop make one?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the fuel rail/injectors but I think if you use the DE-K lower IM, you will need to use the DE-K rail and injectors. I'm in the same boat as you. I have the DE-K upper IM, adapters for TB and IACV and everything else I need to make this work but I just haven't gotten under my hood yet.

Oh, you'll need an RPM switch too.

You will need to make a plate to close off the opening for the egr, unless you get a 5th gen egr tube (I've been waiting a couple of months for the one I have on back order, though).

And you will have to do a little customizing of the throttle cable adjuster bracket.

A couple of months?! I ordered one a week ago and was hoping it'd get here this week. Where'd you order yours from?

CEL comes on unless you have the DE-K EGR guide tube, right?

Unless you get rid of EGR and leave the sensors plugged in.

hmm...well this is one topic that would definitely benefit from a writeup, great mod for the money, but it's alot of work to get all the parts together.

How much was the egr guide tube and how did you customize your throttle cable bracket because have a problem with how it is.

The egr tube was around $36. I don't know if anyone has successfully used it to connect the 4th gen egr valve to the 00VI. I think BSwithTF tried but had fitment problems. I don't know if he eventually got it to work or gave up on it. I sent him a PM but he hasn't answered.

I'll have to take picture of what I did with the throttle cable bracket because I don't think I could adequately describe what I did.

For those that needed the DE-K EGR guide tube, I just spoke with nissanparts.cc and they said Nissan is shipping the part to them on March 25. They expect to recieve it on April 1 (better not be an April Fool's joke...) and ship them then.

sorry, just to back track from what i've read (please correct me if i'm wrong) you use the 00VI upper and lower manifold, 00 throttle body with its IACV, the 00 IACV harness after its been connected to the 4th gen wiring, the 4th gen EGR valve but with the 00 guide tube and 00 fuel injectors and rail. Is this correct, and with this setup there is not further fabrication.

I believe the IACV on the bottom of the 5th gen throttle body will interfere with the 4th gen egr-bpt control valve and its mounting bracket, so that is not an option unless you have the egr stuff removed. Maybe you could relocate the egr-bpt control valve.

If I'm wrong, please speak up.

Is there any issues connecting the 4th gen wiring to the 5th gen IACV? I don't have all the info on the 5th gen IACV but I know on the 4th gen there's not just the IACV connector but a couple other solenoids related to A/C and PS control... Is the 5th gen similar? How do they compare?

Thx.

They wire up ok but may have some weird idle issues, IACV. As far as I know the A/C and TPS are the same on the TB. Once I finally get around to doing the swap I guess I'll find out.
