Is there a height difference between DE and DE-K lower IM?

I know the VQ35 Lower Intake Manifold is substantially taller than the DE LIM, does anybody know if the DE-K LIM is, too?

I was wondering the same thing too. For example, if installing a 5th gen upper with a 4th gen lower causes interferences with the coil pack bosses and PCV valve etc, - is that because the 4th gen LIM is shorter? Or is it also related to the 5th gen UIM and rear valve cover design, not just the lower?

I'd think someone who has both LIM's in their possession would have to measure them (off the car) in order to provide a definitive answer. But I'm curious to know this as well.

Ironically, I have both in my possession, but the DE-K LIM is on my wife's car and I can't get a good measurement that way.

Hehe. Well you might just have to convince her to make alternate transportation arrangements for a day or two.

Thanks, Krismax.

I was able to measure the height of the DE-K lower IM on my wife's car this weekend. It was a bit difficult to get a good view of the scale, but it looked to be the same height as the DE lower IM.

I have both and they are out of the car. I'm pretty sure they are the same, but can measure them tonight if needed.

I am not sure. I didn't look close enough. It is a 2000 Fed spec.

Then it doesn't. The 2000 Cali-spec and all 2001's have the swirl valves.

Mine also cleared the coil pack w/o any problems. I do not have the swirl valves.

Mines didn't clear the coil pack (had to do some grinding) and took off the swirl valves.

Maybe it is a Mitsu/Hashin coil difference.

Mind doesn't clear either (2000 fed spec LIM)... maybe it is the coils but then the valve covers have to be different because it's hitting the bosses themselves. I haven't checked the part #'s to see.

Hmm this is interesting. How come mine, Chris's, and Joe's clear but some of yours do not?

Mine didn't clear either, and neither did Slamd98SE's.

Also, I compared the 4th gen and 5th gen LIM's when I had them off the car this weekend... just took some basic measurements but I believe they're the same height (concurs with what others have observed).
