VQ Intake Generations Questions

Ok, from simple inference through the threads, I am wondering if there is a difference in actual parts between the 2000 VI (vs) 2001-2003 Intake manifold.
They are both the black plastic VI right? Or am I missing something when I look at everyone's cardomain pics?
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
You're missing that the 00-01 is plastic on a 3.0 and the 2k2 + is cast aluminum sitting on a 3.5L. The 00-01 is the same part number.

And if you want to swap your manifold you need to locate a 2000 (Fed Spec) VI because it has the EGR connections and the 2001 VI does not.

SR20DEN, so 2k unless I bypass the egr...
What is your opinion about just cutting it out. I appreciate your suggestions due to your weighted experience.

IIRC some .org members were working on an appropriate bypass to fool the ECU. It's doable and may be worth a try.
