It's part of the EGR guide tube assembly... not a separate part.

That's what I thought also, but when I ordered the EGR tube from the dealer, it came in without the plate piece... it was just the tube, so that threw me off. Later on, when I saw the sketch from the computerized manual the dealer has, it showed it to be a separate piece.

I went ahead and ordered it... and now you're telling me that it's all one piece, and I'm even more confused.

Really? That's odd. You sure you got the right EGR tube? When I did mine back in the spring it came as one piece...

The computerized manual is Nissan FAST, and the version I have shows it as one piece but only shows the application date up to 06/00. Maybe there are different/updated/more current versions?

I dunno I guess if you need both get both. Post up a pic when you get it.. I'm curious now.

The 2k egr guide tube is constructed of two pieces, a tube and a flange, but they are not separable. I don't see how you could have gotten just the tube without the flange.

They didn't order you a 4th gen one by accident, did they?

Yeah, that's possible... and actually probable the more I think about it. Dealers seem to have a hard time telling the difference between a DE and a DE-K. It's not the first time this has happened to me.

I'd have this figured out already, but I'm not doing this install myself, and my car and all the parts were left at the shop last night.

The 4th gen guide tube is one solid piece though...

For the 5th gen, the picture StephenMax posted is exactly what I was referring to. Technically it's two pieces not one solid assembly but I said "one piece" because for all practical purposes it is one unseparable part.

there are two EGR tubes. make sure you got the guide tube not the assembly tube. When i first ordered mine they sent me the assembly tube by accident and that tube does not have a plate. Like stephen max said the plate cannot be separated (as far as I could tell) so most likely you have the wrong part. If it was a 4th gen guide tube then both ends would have the same connector looking thing while the 00-01 guide tube only has that on the bottom end while the top end is just a tube and plate.
