Yet another 00 vi question...

So I finally found my vi, and it seems like a pretty good deal and all, but it doesn't come with the lower. Now I have read on NICO that you can use the 4th gen intake and injectors and you dont have to swap out the fuel rail or anything. My question is, how well would that plenum work on the stock lower? Should I "rough up" the lower to improve airflow, or just take some more time and find the right intake for the plenum?

It really dosen't matter from a performance standpoint. If there is any gain, it wouldn't be enough to do anything. Just drill your holes in your lower and call it a day. That way, you don't have to **** with the fuel rail.

It's cheaper to just drill the 4th gen lower and there is no gains between the 2.

Forgive me for sounding like a noob, as I haven't read any detailed info on the 5th/4th hybrid, but which holes do I have to drill?

you have to mark and drill new holes. after that those same holes need to be tapped.

Look in the sticky titled "links to threads with useful information" or something like that. Look for a group of threads that talk about 5th gen VI on a 4th gen. There are some threads with some pictures that show what has to be done.

one other thing...
the plenum I'm getting does not include the TPS, but does come with the TB. should I use my stock sensor, or buy one for a 00 or what?

So would it be better/easier for me to use the stock 4th gen lower/rails than use the 5th gen lower/rails that came with the 00VI????
I can sell those off.... i'm just lookin for whatever is easier as long as performance/reliability isn't altered..

I think they are about the same in difficulty, just one is a cheaper route than the other.

in that case i'll just use the 5th gen lower since it came with it either way.

Thanks!
