MAF code after vafc install
MAF code after vafc install
Finally got a vafc (used), got it installed, did the settings, crank up the car and get the SES. Pulled the maf code. When I give it a little gas it almost shuts off. I did the install so if I needed to remove the vafc I have a male and female spade terminal to connect back the maf wire. When I connect the maf wire, it idles and runs fine, with vafc intercept it is rough. Any ideas?
Bad unit maybe?

I just have the regular vafc, I got it used so I'm thinking the unit is just shot. I'm going to tinker with it one more time before I give up on it and just use it as a gauge

You want to use the VTEC controller for what, exactly? You are aware that you don't have VTEC, correct?
You are not able to use the Vtec option on your car. I'm not too sure, but I think the only way to use it on a Maximma is if you have a 00VI... again, not sure. It was mentioned that it could posssibly be used on the VIAS from 02+, but thats not true cuz the VIAS needs to close at a specific rpm range, and then re-open at another rpm point.... VTec controller enables the solenoid to remain open until the rpms drop back to the set point.
VAFC 1
I'm aware that there is no Vtec. I want to use it to control my maf and the injector duty cycle. I'm currently running a t3/t4 on a stock block and stock ecu management. I'm restricted to about 7psi. I want to increase boost and at the same time keep the correct air/fuel ratio. Is it possible keeping the stock injectors and maf unit? I 'm assuming that the stock injectors and maf will be static at some point. I want to hit 400whp. I'm short about 60hp.

No reason to hook up the VTEC wire on the VAFC to use on your car.
So you're running 340whp completely untuned, stock MAF, stock injectors? Do you at least have an FMU/AFPR, fuel pump, any other supporting mods?
You must be running a crazy high fuel pressure to be making that sort of power with stock injectors.
This is a much better topic for FI, not AM. Search around, you'll see pretty much any question you could ever ask related to the fuel system already anwered there.

I never had any issues with wiring up my VAFC.
