VQ35 swapped

I went to the dealer the other day and noticed that the new maximas get 20/28 gas mileage with the VQ35, now if I put that sucker in my 4th gen I'm guessing I would get better gas mileage becaue I'm lighter. My question is to those with the swap, did you notice better gas mileage or about the same? I know there has to be a way to get good gas mileage AND perfomance. And if I can throw a 3.5 in and get 25-30mpg and do low 14s I'm all for that.

If you use the 6-speed with the ultra low overdrive yes you will get higher highway gas mileage. But if you use your OEM 4th gen transmission you're going to get more or less the same mileage.

I notice a decrease in milage, mainly because it's fun to press the pedal now

besides that, we all know that getting the mpg they have it rated at is nearly impossible and requires SERIOUS grandma driving.

I think the 6th gear helps quite a bit for those mileage figures.

I'm already at 25 mpg with my 3.0, not sure it would be feasible to change the engine just to save a bit of gas.
