so if you didn't cut and tap into the MAF wire, this would just serve as a fancy readout/gauge device, correct?

i'm thinking about installing mine but i decided to put my 00vi install off until later, so i don't plan to do any tuning yet, just get the vafc2 in.

Just need to job my memory. Is closed loop under 3K only? or if you full throttle at 2K will it become open loop?

I'm planning out my 24 points for the vafc2, and if closed loop isnt modified in any way, there wouldnt be any point for me to start my point at 2400. I had my points set as follow.

Lvt: 2400,2600,2800,3000,3200,3400,3600,3800,4000,4200, 4400,4600
Hvt:4800,5000,5200,5400,5600,5800,6000,6200,6400,6 600,6700,6800

Lvt -> Hvt: 4600

Thread resurrection alert!

Hey Nmex, both of those links are not working above. Just to clarify, if I'm NOT doing larger injectors/MAF, should I just tune Wide thr. At 3000+ rpm and go up to redline in smaller increments? Is that where open loop starts even if you're full throttle before that?

Correct.

If i'm not mistaken, your ECU will try to correct any changes below 3k rpm. But have fun above that.

Old thread, yes... But here's a shot of where you can mount the VAFC/SAFC on a 4th gen. The temp gauge is almost completely visible from the driver's vantage point - besides, if you can't see the needle, the car isn't warmed up enough

The stand will mount easily to the instrument trim. I relocated my hazard and defrost switch so i can do a 3 gauge setup below the vents on the center console in the not to distant future.
